The completion of the Jack W. Boge Memorial Art Library and Conference Room is being announced by the Quincy Art Center Board of Directors. Executive Director Julie D. Nelson says, “August 27 would have been Jack’s 89 birthday if he were with us today, so we felt it would be a good time to let people know of his gift to the Quincy Art Center and the community. Plans are underway for a future public celebration to introduce the library to everyone!” This project entailed a complete renovation of a very important room in the Quincy Art Center. The library is now a contemporary and relaxing space designed by Architect Anthony Crane of Architechnics Inc. with construction by Schlipman Construction. It features a collection of over 600 volumes of reference materials focusing on monographs of artists’ works in addition to art history, art education, and fiction. “We hope that Art teachers will bring their students to do research here or just get them into the habit of enjoying all of these beautiful books that were in Jack’s home. It is a wide-ranging collection and just like our exhibits and programs, there is something for everyone!”
