ArtFest! is back in person! Come out on Saturday, September 18 from 1 PM – 4 PM to The Art Center located at 1515 Jersey Street.
Admission is free and all ages are welcome. This is a great opportunity for families to come together and get a glimpse of the educational services and programming The Art Center provides throughout Quincy and the surrounding area. Free and low-cost hands-on activities can be enjoyed by any person of any age, making it a great time to get creative. For the safety and security of all of our guests, masks are required for all ArtFest participants.
In addition to hands-on activities and artist demonstrations, the Art Center will also have two exhibits on display during the event. October Waves by Sandra Gottlieb will be on display in the Stevenson Gallery, and the 12th Annual Member Exhibit will be on display in Sinnock Gallery. ArtFest! will be the opening reception for these two exhibits.
While the main focus for ArtFest! is to provide free and accessible activities to all, the funds raised from low-cost activities support The Art Center’s art education programming and scholarships throughout the year. Thanks to local businesses and individual donors, the cost for many activities has been greatly reduced. This event also allows local artists to share their passion for the arts by creating several demonstrations and hands-on experiences.
ArtFest! is brought to you by Kent Adams, Blessing Health System, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, John & Kathy Bozdech, Casey’s General Store, EcoWater Systems of Quincy, The Knapheide Manufacturing Company, Lori Kruse, Roger D. Leach, Quincy Medical Group, Signe Oakley, Kevin & Krista Rankin, Mark & Kate Schuering, Still Waters Float Center, TNT Golf Car & Motorsports, and Winters LLP.
This year, the Art Center is partnering with several local organizations and businesses to make a day-long event dedicated to Exploring the Arts in Quincy, IL! Quincy Public Library, Quincy Community Theatre, The District’s Quincy Farmers Market, The Budding Artist, and the Quincy Museum will be open for the public to experience. This will give the community a chance to tour a variety of artistic mediums by visiting multiple places in the same day!
