Want to learn how to create more with clay? You will want to take this class. Get an introduction to working with clay through building sculptural and/or functional art using slabs, coils, and pinch pots. Students will also get an introduction to adding artistic elements through surface designs. This class will focus on understanding the medium of clay and critical analysis of the process in order to build artistic skills.
This class is an introduction to the basics of hand building and is designed for students who have little to no experience of working with clay or hand building with clay. This class is not recommended for experienced students.

Art is for everyone!
The Art Center offers a scholarship program for children 18 years and younger who qualify for free or reduced lunch, or through recommendation letters from a group leader, pastor, or authority figure. Scholarships are awarded to students yearly and cover 4 classes during the course of that year. The scholarship covers 100% of the price of the class, including art supplies. However, households are responsible for computer and internet connection, in the case of online classes.
To receive a scholarship, please fill out a Scholarship Application Form and submit it to the Quincy Art Center.
