Join us for a virtual lunch hour with artist, Craig Colorusso.
Craig Colorusso has been exploring the intersection of sound, light, and space through sculpture since 2000. His installations consist of wood, metal, fabric, and electronics. In the fall of 2018, Craig exhibited his Sunboxes both at the Quincy Art Center and at a number of locations around Quincy. The installation was comprised of twenty speakers operating independently, each powered by the sun via solar panels. There is a different loop set to play a guitar note in each box continuously. These guitar notes collectively make a Bb chord. Because the loops are different in length, once the piece begins they continuously overlap and the piece slowly evolves over time.
Craig’s Sunboxes are now available to everyone, even if you cannot see the boxes in person! Join us this Friday, September 11 at noon to hear more about Craig’s journey to give people the tools to incorporate Sun Boxes into their lives.
Have a question for Craig? You can either ask him live, or submit your questions ahead of time to Kelsey at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A portion of this event will be shown live during Virtual ArtFest 2020, taking place on Saturday, September 19 at 10 AM.
