45th Annual High School Student Art Competition

January 25-March 1, 2019

High School Art Teacher Competition

Eligibility High School Visual Art Teachers that have students entering the 45th Annual High School Student Art Competition and teach within a fifty-mile radius of Quincy, Illinois are eligible. All works entered will be displayed.

Entries High School Visual Art Teachers may enter one artwork at no cost. All mediums are eligible. All artwork must be original. No copies of copyrighted imagery are allowed.

Awards All awards will be presented at the discretion of the judge. Criteria for awards include originality and quality of artwork. One art teacher will be awarded $300 to use towards their classroom to purchase art supplies, art equipment, or an art lesson brought to your classroom by
the Art Center.

Second Place-$300 to Brianna Blickhan of Unity High, 12, for Still Life, charcoal

Third Place-$100 to Zayne Gaus of Highland High, 12, for The Hotel, acrylic

Merit Award-$100 to Abby White of Logan Private Studio, 12, for Autoworld in Fulton, acrylic ink on car ad

Merit Award-$100 to Mariah Shoemyer of Monroe City R-1, 12, for It’s a Shrimp Thing, chalk pastel

Honorable Mention Award-$50 to Janessa Grammer of Western High, 12, for Funky Town, colored pencil

Honorable Mention Award-$50 to Lauren Fortner of Monroe City R-1, 12, for The Jars, acrylic

Honorable Mention Award-$50 to Cierra Courtois of Quincy Notre Dame, 12, for Just Checking, graphite

Great River Water Color Society Award-$50 to Iva Welbourne of Pittsfield High, 12, for Sky at the Farm, watercolor & ink

Quincy Artist Guild Award -$25 to Kyleigh Gibbs of Hannibal High, 11, for Dino Car, ink
