Artist: Deborah Baughman
Date  March 2-April 15, 2018 @ 12AM - 12:59AM

Deborah Baughman is a lifelong resident of SE Iowa and lives in the small town of Pulaski with her husband Mike. They have three sons and three grandsons. Deb is a graduate of Northeast Missouri State University, now Truman State, with degrees in Art Ed. She taught elementary art for 33 years in southern Iowa. She competed in the River Bluffs Paint Out in Canton, MO in 2017 and was awarded a solo exhibition at the Quincy Art Center. This exhibition will be held in the Jack W. Boge Library & Conference Room.

Baughman has always been a painter, and since she retired from teaching she has enjoyed plein air painting as well as studio work. Baughman doesn’t limit herself to one subject or medium. Baughman likes watercolor, oil, printmaking, and casein. She enjoys creating industrial city views, landscapes, and vintage portraits. Baughman looks for contrast and rhythm in her artwork. She hopes the viewer is drawn to follow the paths through a piece, and make a connection to something in their personal lives. Baughman loves the painting process and is excited to share her work with the viewer.
